The problem
Most automated trading fails open. When a quote goes stale, a broker times out or a fill is never confirmed, the typical bot keeps trading and the ledger quietly drifts from the account. The operator finds out at month end, if at all.
What it does
SUTP inverts that. Every order passes a pre-trade gate that refuses new risk when anything it needs is missing. Every position is reconciled to the broker's own record, and every correction is audited and reversible. Strategies are plug-ins that can only shrink their own size when measured edge disappoints. The same code runs paper and live; the only difference is an authorisation chain the operator controls.

What it does, specifically.
Three books, isolated
An options income wheel, a follow-the-disclosures equity sleeve and a crisis-equity buyer each own their account, ledger, configuration and workers.
Fail-closed pre-trade gate
Missing data, a stale quote, an unreadable calendar, an unset configuration or an unreachable broker means no new risk. The gate cannot be argued with.
Latching breakers
Drawdown, daily loss, order-rate and deploy-cap breakers latch until a human clears them. HALT.ALL stops every book at once.
Broker-truth reconciliation
Fills, assignments, renames and corporate actions are reconciled to the broker's record. Drift holds the symbol, alerts the operator and never silently repairs the book.
De-rate-biased sizing
Edge multipliers cap at one. Measured edge can only reduce exposure, never inflate it.
Overfitting-aware scorecard
Deflated Sharpe, probability of backtest overfitting and walk-forward validation decide whether a strategy may be promoted. A verdict needs a full quarter, matched dates and an attested data feed.
Release gate
Tens of thousands of automated tests and an independent AI review run before any version reaches the fleet. Releases are immutable and versioned; rollback is a runbook step.
Operator surfaces
A Mac and Windows desktop app, an admin console and a phone view behind a zero-trust tunnel. Analytics, risk, tax lots and a daily record on every book.
